We’ve compiled a list of essential packing tips that will help you navigate this task with ease, even if you’re traveling with your family!

1. Travel Documents
Before anything else, ensure you have all necessary travel documents. These include your passport, driver’s license, cruise tickets, flight tickets (if any), and travel insurance documents. Keep them in an easily accessible but secure place.

2. Clothing
Packing for the Caribbean means preparing for tropical weather. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing like cotton t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, and swimwear. Don’t forget a lightweight jacket or a wrap for cooler evenings or air-conditioned interiors.

However, cruises often have formal nights, so include a dressier outfit or two. For men, a suit or a smart casual outfit would suffice. For women, a cocktail dress or a fancy jumpsuit would be perfect.

3. Footwear
A pair of flip-flops for the beach, comfortable walking shoes for excursions, and formal shoes for those elegant nights should cover your footwear needs.

4. Essential Gear
Remember to pack your sunglasses, hats, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. Also, consider packing a waterproof phone case and a portable power bank to keep your devices charged.

If you have a baby, consider a compact travel stroller. Also, bring a baby carrier for hands-free mobility during excursions. This stroller has been a lifesaver for my husband and I while traveling with our little one. It’s similar to those cheap umbrella strollers, but much more heavy duty. We love this stroller so much that we use it all the time, instead of hauling around our big heavy stroller.

5. Family Outfits
Consider packing coordinating outfits for the entire family for those cute vacation photos. Many cruise lines also have themed nights, so check your itinerary and plan to join in with the whole family.

6. Safety
Bring a basic first-aid kit. Include band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and seasickness remedies. Remember, you can always get medical assistance onboard by speaking with a crew member, but it’s nice to have some items for those “ouchies” that happen.
